Add on electronics and grid optimization: pros and cons
Add on electronics pros:
- capacity optimisation in real time
- simple installation and traceless demounting – also as loan
- connection takes place with original connectors in OEM quality and protection cover, that let appear your module as good as new also after years
- after the extension the vehicle is in the series condition again
- our add on electronics is not detectable after the extension
- all motor protection functions last conserve
- also in factory-provided software update our module stays totally untouched
- in vehicle change we can reprogram the module on your new vehicle or you can sell your module.
Add on electronics cons:
- The Vmax- limitation cannot be cancelled through an add on electronics
Grid optimisation pros:
- It is possible to cancel the Vmax- limitation
Grid optimisation cons:
- The customer has no influence on the tuning and always needs to go directly to his tuner if he wishes a change.
- In older vehicles, the engine control unit is no longer diagnosis capable (the workshop can no longer read and/or delete error messages).
- On incorrect optimisation of the vehicle software, it exists the risk of causing an engine damage. Overheating of the turbo and/or a burn up of the particle filter would be there no rarity. The protection functions of the engine can be disengaged in improper use. Factory provided software updates deletes completely the grid optimisation of the engine controller, so that there are caused further costs by the restoring of the tunings at your tuner. At least however it requires time and discussions.
- Chip tuning frequently can be proved by the car manufacturer. Through it you lose the manufacturer's guarantee and must arise for every damage / wear yourself.
- The tuning software can for example in a vehicle change not be rebuilt, not be rebuilt into another vehicle.
